FSL is a not-for-profit, nationally accredited organization that provides a wide variety of services to individuals, families and children in Suffolk County. It is funded through federal, state, county and town contracts as well as direct contributions and fund-raising events. The organization assists more than 40,000 families annually and this inaugural event is anticipated to be a major fund-raiser for them....

Their venture began with Steve Rainone of Netter Real Estate. Rainone, a resident of Bay Shore, agreed to chair the FSL event. Many members of the Netter Real Estate staff are serving on several of the tour's committees. He said he and his colleagues were happy to participate in such a worth cause. " Our company has a very friendly, family-like atmosphere, " said Rainone, who noted he and his colleagues are happy to be involved in a worthy cause. " And so when we learned about the diverse benefits Family Service League provides for Long Island families we were in awe and we wanted to get involved with the, " he added. "It's a great organization."

Six houses from Babylon To Great River will be showcased on the tour. They include a waterfront New England-style home, Moorish mansion, a majestic Hamptonseque abode, along with Art Deco and Neoclassic-style residences and an antique-filled estate house at least 100 years old.

"It's all really coming together," said MaryAnn Rainone, a house tour committee member. "We hope to make as much money as we possibly for the Family Service League because they really need it."
